14th November 1878 Yarmouth & North Norfolk (Light) Railway gave notice to make railways:
  1. Railway No.1 from a junction with the line authorised by the Yarmouth and North Norfolk (Light) Railway Act, 1878 to a junction with Railway No.2 authorised by the Lynn & Fakenham Railway Act, 1876, at Pudding Norton,
  2. Railway No.2 from a junction with the line authorised by the Yarmouth and North Norfolk (Light) Railway Act, 1878 to a junction with the East Norfolk Railway to the north of that company’s North Walsham station,
  3. Railway No.3 from a junction with the existing line of the Yarmouth and North Norfolk (Light) Railway at the north end of Yarmouth station to White Swan Inn on the north Quay at Great Yarmouth,
  4. Railway No.4 from a junction with Railway No.1 authorised by the Lynn & Fakenham Railway Act, 1876, to a junction with the Hunstanton & West Norfolk Railway in Gaywood,
  5. Railway No.5 from a junction with the Hunstanton & West Norfolk Railway in Gaywood to a junction with the King’s Lynn Dock Company at the Loke,
  6. Railway No.6 from a junction with the King’s Lynn Dock Company at the Loke to a point near Garland’s Yard on the north side of Austin Street,
  7. Railway No.7: a Tramway from a junction with the proposed Railway No.3 to a junction with the tramway referred to in the Great Eastern Railway Act, 1862, at Common Lane or Row.
  8. also:
  9. To amalgamate with the Lynn & Fakenham Railway and thereby form one Company to be called the Yarmouth & North Norfolk Railway,
  10. Running powers over the East Norfolk Railway from North Walsham to Cromer,
  11. Running powers over the tramway of the Great Eastern Railway in Yarmouth,
  12. Diversion of the public roads between Ormesby and California; in Hemsby; in Martham; in Stalham Staithe; in Stalham; in Worstead (2).

26th August 1880 Royal assent given to Yarmouth Union Railway Act which authorised incorporation of the company and the making of:
  1. a railway about one mile two chains and fifteen links commencing by a junction with the Yarmouth and Norfolk (Light) Railway at or near a point opposite the northern end of the passenger station of the railway and terminating a a point 10 feet or thereabouts measured in an easterly direction from the south east corner of the White Swan Inn on the north quay at Great Yarmouth,
  2. a tramway, single line, one furlong eight chains and ten links in length) commencing by a junction with the proposed railway at the proposed termination thereof and terminating on the north quay at Great Yarmouth by a junction with the Yarmouth tramways of the Great Eastern Railway,

  3. also authorised:
  4. seven level crossings of public roadways,
  5. stopping up of two public roads,
  6. the making of byelaws,
  7. the making of agreements with the Yarmouth and Norfolk (Light) Railway for the maintenance and working of the railway and tramway.

  8. also:
  9. forbade carrying passengers on the railway and tramway,
